How to plan your week with Claude
Short version: give Claude your fixed appointments, your one or two goals for the week and how much time each needs, and ask for a draft with free space left in each day. Connect your calendar so it sees the real week. If you want the plan to stay current after the chat, let Claude keep it on a board where you approve each change.
1. With a prompt alone
This works in any Claude plan, without connectors. Paste it on Sunday evening and fill in the brackets:
The limit: the plan lives in this chat. By Wednesday it's out of date unless you come back and paste the changes.
2. With calendar and task connectors
Turn on Claude's Google Calendar connector (and Todoist or another task app if you use one). Now Claude can read the real week and add events or tasks when you allow it. Ask: "Look at my calendar for next week and my open tasks, then propose where the important ones fit." This is enough for many people; see why not just the connectors for where it stops.
3. With Claude keeping a week board
With the Weekglass connector, Claude writes the plan onto one board (today, the week, your goals) instead of into the chat. Each block it proposes waits for your tap, every change carries its author and can be undone, and a Sunday routine on Claude's scheduler drafts next week for you to review. You can ask in any chat, for example:
To connect: sign in at app.weekglass.com, open the Connect card on your board and add the connector to Claude or ChatGPT (it's one link: https://app.weekglass.com/api/mcp). Then say "set me up". Weekglass is a private beta by invitation; join the waitlist for a spot.
Tips that hold whatever you use
- Plan the week, then only re-check the day. A five-minute morning look beats re-planning daily.
- Name one goal per week that the plan serves. Everything else fits around it.
- Leave real slack. A plan with no free time is out of date by Tuesday.
- Review on Sunday: what moved, what didn't, and why. That's where the next plan comes from.
